A Small Robot,
Big Possibilities
Trusted Quality, Developed in Japan
Students can control robots intuitively with cards or program them using visual coding. This flexible approach develops both creative expression and logical thinking, empowering learners to bring ideas to life. Playful STEAM learning for ages 4–10.
toio™ Education Kit is developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment and licensed by Afrel Co., Ltd. RoboGenius is the school delivery partner in India.
Watch toio™ in action
Inspiring the next generation of learners
The four areas the toio™ Education Kit is designed around.
STEAM Education
Science, technology, engineering, arts and maths through hands-on play.
Creativity
Children invent stories, sounds and journeys and then make the robot perform them.
Critical Thinking
Trial, error and improvement — testing a route, seeing what happens, trying again.
Early Learners
Designed for young children first, not scaled down from an older age group.

Why toio™ is chosen in classrooms
The three reasons schools give, in Afrel's own words.
Teacher Friendly
Quick Setup, Easy to Use in Classrooms
Every set arrives ready to teach, with a student worksheet and a teacher's guide included. No prior robotics experience is needed to run a lesson.
Student-Centered
For Young Learners, Gender-neutral Design
A small, tactile cube that fits in a child's hand. Children lead the activity — placing cards, testing ideas and watching what the robot does next.
Cost-Effective & Scalable
Affordable, Durable, Easy to Expand
Start with one set for a classroom and add sets, mats and sheets as the programme grows. Built to survive daily use by young children.
From cards with no screen, to visual coding
The kit grows with the child — start screen-free at four, move to Scratch-style block coding at six.
toio™ Card
No PC. Cards control robots.
Just place a card and watch it go. Children build sequences with their hands before they ever meet a screen.
-
Early Learning: the first robotics activity a four-year-old can run independently.
-
Intuitive: physical cards for movement and sound — no reading or typing required.
-
Creativity & Logic: children invent a sequence, test it, and change it when it doesn't work.
toio™ Do
Visual programming, Scratch-style.
Drag-and-drop blocks on a laptop drive the same cubes on a printed mat, so the result of a program is something the whole class can see move.
-
Logical Thinking: sequences, repetition and conditions, built from blocks.
-
Creativity: children design their own missions on the mats and sheets.
-
Problem-Solving: pair work with two cubes, obstacle routes and case-based challenges.
The step your STEM programme is missing
Most school robotics starts in Class VI. toio™ starts at four — which means the foundational years finally have something of their own.
toio™ Education Kit
Screen-free card control, then Scratch-style visual coding. Play-based, hands-on and teacher-led, with 34 hours of ready-to-teach curriculum.
Robotics & tinkering labs
The RoboGenius Future Leaders Lab — STEM tinkering, robotics, creative design and AI, built with LEGO Education, Arduino and fischertechnik.
Competition & future skills
World Robot Olympiad training, CBSE Composite Skill Lab setup and the RoboGenius Academy pathway.
Under NEP 2020, ages 4–10 span the Foundational and Preparatory stages, where the emphasis is on play-based and activity-based learning. toio™ is built for exactly that: children work with their hands and with each other, and the robot gives immediate, visible feedback. RoboGenius handles installation, teacher training and ongoing support, as it does for every other lab it sets up.
A quick taste of both modes
Build a short sequence and run it. Card mode works the way the physical cards do; Block mode shows the shape of a Scratch-style program.
